let me say:
What is art (for me) and describe my doing.
We have our origins in ourselves.
I think we all exist, as a collective memory, just we are not completely conscious of it.
throughout history, civilizations have relied on a visual art to convey and spread ideas, often producing art of timeless quality.
Today Art is seeking new ways of expression.
A sculpture can be made by a machine according to ones directives. Is that an art work I really don’t know.
So one must find his own unique way of expressing his feelings. I feel “small”, smashed by the weight of the univers so I like to I create small things, miniatures.
A miniature is a sculpture!
We are artists and so we have special rights and a certain prerogative, all we need to do is to be ourselves and to create as best as we can. Even if we have to pay for it that the demand of ART, of any art.! That is our condition.
We are not like common people, or a regular person, we think differently, that is our nature and that is our raison d’etre on this blessed earth, free as a bird and slaved as Sisyphus, that feeling of creation is so strong, we forget all our suffering.
Yes the feeling of creation is so strong, we forget our pain ,our suffering, our distress our anguish. ” les miasmes morbides” C.Beaudelaire. Les Fleur sdu mal
The creation is a moment of up-rising, and of freedom now we can do what we want to do, we are the sole and unique master of our art.
My thinking is sometimes abstract and it takes me to materialize idea, the very famous Mobius with its mysteries is one example.
When you appreciate ART, first of all you like it or not like it, after that, it depends on you.
(You look for the Quality of the work, How you know and what you know comes from your artistic cultural inherit age, You look at the “Maitrise” how much artist are master in their art and work, and you look at the aesthetic, and finally at the subject.)
You are most welcome to my site.
Thank you for visiting.
My site is about my sculpting and the beauty of a work of art.
My life story
My Art is all about a long story of a boy and a left over piece of wood , found in his father furniture cabinet.
It started… this way.
It is also about:
cut hands, dull chisels. knives. Cutting tools… grinding, honing…
It’s also about the adventure of catching a unique moment in – time- petrified in three dimensions an idea, the “idea”, the inner vision caught in a blessed instant
opening door for a new creation.
There is muse and hard work.
I had the will of carving, and being alone from my young age. The will of working with my hands, carving and sculpting was the will of playing or doing anything else.
I never was like the other children of my age and neighborhood. I only wanted to carve nothing else. How old was I when I carved my first big cat, 8-9-10 years.. 15 year when I carved my first Horse ( how many horse. I carved horse in multiple posture ) ” J’ai encoe le fumet d’un cheval” St John Perse; Amers
And always in wood. Only years later I sculpted in stone and marble and beef bones
I do remember the smell of the essence of the Moroccan Cedar the warm color of African wood… The pleasure of cutting Mahogany, the oily eucalyptus wood and ebony and teak and…
I am a carver and I carved big figure and small miniature sculptures, mainly in wood and in beef bones. I have done sculpture in stone and marble.
I love wood, my miniature from 1.2 to about 14 cm are mostly carved in wood, as wood for me has a feel of its own, a character of its own; wood allows a beautiful polished finish – even without paint or polish, Whereas stone or marble are cold, wood has a natural warm.
One who carves a piece of wood gives to wood a second life.
recycling a piece of wood may be save a tree.
